The FREE DX-World Weekly Bulletin #214
DX bulletin 214 07/09/2017 By ON9CFG ON9CFG@telenet.be DX news 9U4M Burundi
DXpedition -update Great news especially for the lovers of digital modes: The international MDXC team working to build the new dxpedition from Burundi with the callsign 9U4M, will be on air also with the new FT8 digital mode. Called FT-8 (Franke-Taylor design, 8FSK modulation) will be another good way to catch the weak signals. As a matter of fact a weak signal mode that is not as sensitive to JT-65/9 but definitely something that will work when voice and CW will not. https://dx-world.net/9u4m-burundi/
Major Solar flare On Sept. 6th at 1202 UT, sunspot AR2673 unleashed a major X9-class solar flare–the strongest solar flare in more than a decade. X-rays and UV radiation from the blast ionized the top of Earth’s atmosphere, causing a strong shortwave radio blackout on the dayside of our planet. The explosion also likely produced a CME, although coronagraph images have not yet confirmed this possibility. Please stay tuned for updates about this event. http://spaceweather.com/
